RELOCATION TO
THE RICHWOOD AREA
If you've read some of the statistics on the side bar, you already know West Virginia is a good state in which to relocate. Now, let's talk about Richwood:
1. We have many vacant buildings on Main Street that could be adapted to your business. If you are someone looking for a building to house your business, several of the buildings have nice apartments upstairs. You could live up, and house your business down. Many have lower levels for unloading and loading.
2. At present there is one building (4 stories - the old G.C. Murphy department store) on Main Street for sale by the owner for $25,000. You could purchase the old Mountaineer Hotel (20 rooms) for $26,000. Many other places are for sale or lease.
3. Unfortunately Richwood's approximately 2000 population cannot support some businesses that might choose to locate here. If you're a savvy business person, have run a business for a while and know the ins and outs, you might fit in well.
4. If you have an internet based business and would like to have a building to store your product, plus a place to live, we could be the perfect place for you. You really need something where you could contribute to the local economy but not have to depend soley on the local population for your support.
5. If you want a building for business purposes, plus a separate home, there are many inexpensive homes in the area that could fit into your plans.
6. We are working with the Richwood CVB promoting tourism in our area. We have beautiful surroundings, the Monongahela National Forest, hiking, fishing, hunting, friendly folks - all the good things right in our backyard. If you have a tourism oriented business, you may be a good fit for our area. Please remember that we do have snow in Richwood and business is slow here in the winter.
7. We will be adding more info to our web site, but if you have questions or we can help further, please give us a call. We're not trying to discourage you, but we want to be honest about the business situation here.
